The Interview

The Interview

One day, I had an interview for a part-time job as a waitress. It was a big thing for me because I had really wanted to do the part-time job for a long time because the job gives people energy. It also makes people happy. I prepared many answers in case the interviewer asked me.

I was very sleepy that morning. Unfortunately, I had an appointment to go out with my boyfriend before I had the interview. We went to eat ramen as usual, talked a lot, and walked.

Suddenly, he asked me “What time should you arrive there?” I said “The interview will start at 5 o’clock, so I’m going to arrive there at 4.40.” But when we looked at his watch, it was 4.30. It takes about 30 minutes from the place where we were to the place for having the interview. I was afraid of getting late there, but my boyfriend said to me “Hopefully, we can arrive there on time.” I was so upset that my boyfriend laughed at me. I was absolutely shattered. Therefore, we hurried off.

Fortunately, he knew the place, so we could arrive there easily. Thanks to him, we could arrive at 4.55. I was so relieved. I also felt a bit guilty. I am used to having my own way, so I bothered him by being selfish.

When I arrived at the interviewer was waiting for me outside. It was a cold and rainy day, so I apologized to her immediately. Then, we went inside and started the interview. She asked me some questions. They were not as many as I had expected. “What is your best skill?” “Do you like to communicate with people?” and so on. They were interesting, so I could enjoy having the interview. I told her “I really like communicating with people, I want to meet many people!” I’m not good at promoting myself, but I like people more than anything else. She smiled at me gently and said “I think you are so unique, and you will be able to enjoy this job!” I have passed in the interview.
