Interview last Friday

I and my partner, Nidya interviewed eleven people on the George Street last Friday. We made five questions about a job interview. Most people answered our questions willingly, but few people did not spare time for us. There are two questions which were interested.

First question is “how do you usually feel when you have a job interview?” Options are nervous, anxious, excited and comfortable. Ten people chose nervous and one person chose anxious. I thought there are many people who choose nervous, so my expectation was right.

In addition, the result of the question, “what is the most important thing to look for in a job?” was interesting as well. This is because, the result was divided into three, high salary, good environment and working hours.

I do not like speaking to strangers, so at first I was scary. However it was good experience for me.

“Afternoon class last Friday”

“Afternoon class last Friday”

Today I’ll write about my class outside on last Friday.

Last Friday we went to study outside and then teacher told us to made few questions for asked people about job interview, my part is Jedo.
Jedo spoke very well when we’re asking. We could ask the questions about job interview around 10 people.

I thought it’s really difficult to find people who’ll answer our questions because when we went to introduce ourselves to few people but they tried to avoid us. For example we saw one man in the meridian mall then we walked to introduce ourselves, while we’re asking first question his wife came and asked “what are you doing?” And then he told to his wife he answer about job interview, then her suddenly cut our conversation and she said to her husband to go somewhere and he stopped to answer us and gone. I felt a bit annoy from them

However I thought study outside is still good because I’d known that I have to confident of myself if I want to improve English, and you’ll have new experience that you can’t have when you study in your class room.

Interviews in George St.

Last Friday, I and my partner, New asked some people questions about job interview in George Street. I was very nervous and shy because it was first experience to speak to someone who I do not know.

What we found out was really interesting, because each person showed us different attitude when they were asked. We talked to 6 people. Most of them have been to job interviews and responded our questions friendly. Some people felt nervous .On the other side, some people felt fun when they had an interview. In addition, interestingly, all of them would most like to answer this question “Room, desk, or car-which do you clean first?” as unusual question, and also all of them thought that tidy cloth is more important than tidy hair for an interview. One of them used to be an interviewer. He was trying to make funny questions for candidates when he was an interviewer.

Talking to people in public was really valuable experience for us. Although few people did not accept us, most of people speak to us friendly. This is completely unexpected thing, because Japanese are never friendly to people who they do not know. I think this characteristic of New Zealander is awesome.

Interview last Friday

Last Friday my partner and I realized eleven surveys people (between 20 and 60 years old) that were walking on George Street. This was about job interview, had five questions and every question had four options.

The results about this was 64 percent of people think that be late a job interview is the worst thing. Over half of respondents believe that the most important aspect to look for a job is that this had a good environment. The people think the key to interviewing well is be honest. The analyses show that is more frequently that people feel nervous when them have a job interview. The favourite usual question that people prefer to ask in a job interview was: If you had to spend the rest of your life on a deserted island, what two things would you want to have with you?

When I started made the surveys to people I feel embarrassed because I have difficult to pronunciation some words and the people did not understand me when I asked them. I really enjoy this exercise because it a form to practice your speaking with English speakers. Most of the people were friendly and kind and this really help me because I feel well.

Our Interview about an interview

Last Friday, we interviewed ten public people about their experience of interview at the George St.
I and Eri asked ten public people our five questions, and we found some interesting points through the interview.

All people who we interviewed said Chew gum is the worst thing to do in an interview. I was surprised at this result of the survey, because I thought somebody of them might choose have a showy hair color is the worst thing. Also, six people chose question what would you do today if you knew the earth was to be destroyed tomorrow is they would like to be asked. I thought we are often asked about this question, so I could understand people chose this one. In addition, six people chose your reason for applying is the most important in an interview. They do not care their personality about this question.

In conclusion, these are interesting results to me. Interview activity is the second time for me, so I have become used to speak to unknown people. It was good experience for me.

Interviewed about an interview

We interviewed 10 public people at the George St.
I and Sayako asked them about their experiences of an interview. We could catch the thinking from them.

Most people said that “chew gum” is the worst thing when people do an interview. Answers included other choices, also they giggled these answers when they listened to this interview. However, this answer was supported by many people.
Public people imaged that they must be surprise if the earth was to be destroyed suddenly. Probably, we have never heard a news of an extinction, so they couldn’t understand this situation.
When people do an interview, own personal reason for applying is the most important. This idea is more popular than qualifications.

We questioned people from an elderly to a student. Sometime, we were refused by some people, so our mental accepted a little shock. I understood feelings of people who make and investigation. It was so hard for me to get information, also it was good experience, too.

Interviews

Last Friday, I and Clarence (my partner) interviewed on George Street.

I found out a lot of opinion about job interviews from the public.

First, most people think that most useful degree for getting a job is Bachelor of Commerce. I thought Bachelor of Arts is most important, so I was surprised.

Second, we need to preparations for a job interview. We asked kiwis “What did you think is the most important things for getting a job?” There were a lot of opinion. Smile, behaviour, and a good CV. A woman said “Relax was also important preparation.” I though “That’s right!!” I think we need not only a great career but also having confident (-:

Last, we asked “Which one of these things was the worst thing to do in an interview?” Most people think worst thing is bringing some food. I think so. Some people think yarn is bad. We have to pay attention to take interview.

Before go to interview, I was a little nervous, but I felt happy because Kiwis are very kind and friendly. I like communicating with people, I was really happy (-: Though my speaking skill is not good, kiwis talked me with smile. I also though my partner is positive, so we could help each other. This interview was great experience in my life (-:

Interviews on George St

I did survey about job interview with my classmate Mark last Friday on George ST. we asked four people some questions and write the answer on a paper.
The first question we asked them which is about “what do you think is the most important thing in a work”?, and most of them chose working environment and salary, but there is a women chose holiday who is a mother already, maybe she wants to take care her children more.
The second question is about the best way to prepare for an interview. Two Chinese girls chose be relaxed and clear in your mind, but other two people thought “get information about the company from others or the internet” and ‘be enthusiastic about the job” is the best way.
The third question is about the worst thing to do in an interview. Most of them chose “bad haircut and dress”, but as for me I think the worst thing to do in an interview is be late, because it is the most basic respect to each other.

I think this survey is very interesting, because I can know what should I do when I get an interview in the future and  get some information about how do people  think about an interview.

My interview

I went to the George Street to interview kiwi with my partner Nana in last week. We asked some questions about job interview, we prepare three questions, there are which kind of degree do you think is most useful for getting a job, what do you think is the most important thing for getting a job and which one of these things is the worst thing to do in an interview?

At first, we practiced with each other, we said “Excuse me, my name is Clarence and her name is Nana, we are studying at University of Otago, can I ask you some questions about job interview? We practiced a lot of times but we still feel afraid.

And then, we went to George Street and we hope meet somebody who is very friendly. We look for a lot of people in the Street, and we choose an old women to interview, she really friendly and answer our questions, we feel very happy that we meet a good women, through with the first people we feel is not so hard, and made relax.

When we asked they questions, most of people feels happy and surprised, and also I think maybe they feel our questions were so naive, but they still answer our questions. They gives our a lot of useful information, through with the job interview we found most of people think bachelor of commerce is useful and preparation is the important thing for getting a job, and finally most of people feel bring some food is the worst thing to do in an interview.

I feel very happy and get lots of things through the specially class, I never have courage to talk with kiwi, because I know my spoken English is very bad, but today I talk with so many strange people, I feel is challenge my afraid. And other important things is my spoken English level has improve. Today is good day.

Interview on George St

Last Friday I did a survey about job interview on George St with Eric. Though the weather was not very good, we had a special experience.

What we need to do is to find people on the street and ask them some simple questions about job then record the choices they make. That is really difficult because they are all strange people and we are supposed to ask them in English. Eventually we asked four people. Here are the answers.

First question is what they think is the most important thing in a work. There are four options: working time, working environment, holiday and salary. Half of them chose working environment and half chose salary. Then we asked them if they had any secret to interviewing well. Three of them answered no secret while another girl suggested me to get information first. Next question is “what is the best way to prepare for an interview”. Two people chose good mood and the other two guys chose information and attitude respectively. “Which do you think is the worst thing to do in an interview?” we asked. Two guys chose bad haircut or dress and others chose “be late” and “be too nervous to answer questions”. At the last of the interview, we showed them four strange questions and let them choose which the most difficult question is. Two of them chose “If you were a car, what car would you be” and others chose “who do you admire most, why”.

I think …
